Default help steering wheel

i have a problem with my 99 cherokee after adding 6.5 lift, adj. control arms, adj. track bar, new gearbox, new bump stop. Had the truck aligned and the steering wheel refuses to stay straight, and when i hit a bump the truck pulls right. does not have "death wobble".

Are the wheels balanced? Not sure this could even cause this? Just didn't see it listed.

Did you install a drop pitman arm? Or drop track bar mount? If you did one and not the other than that is your problem. They need to run parallel to avoid bump steer.
Of not them you need to check all your front end components. Tie rods, wheel bearings, ball joints etc.

Ok that doesn't answer anything I asked. It sounds like you are getting bumpsteer. Again, drop track bar bracket or pitman arm?

X2 on bump steer. I had an 89 on thornbirds that did it all the time. Everything checked out an we couldn't ever find the cause. Check all the bushings in your steering an that your sway bar links are tight. Sometimes it's the stupid things that get over looked. Another thing: most alignment shops aren't gonna set the track bar. They are gonna check the to an camber an send it out the door. You can drop some plumb bobs or measure off the inner fender but this could also be your axle tracking to the passenger side an not centered

ok, and again, do you have a drop track bar bracket also or just the drop pitman arm?
if you only have the pitman arm than you need a trac bar drop to make the drag link and track bar run parallel.
If they are not parallel they are going to move in a different arc while the axle cycles. like over bumps, the difference in radius is causing the drag link to move more/less than the axle causing it to "steer" hence bump steer.

Here's your answer you need a drop pitman arm to get rid of your "bump steer".
There are different drop lengths that are for different lift sizes. What's happening is as your suspension compresses your steering geometry changes and that's why the wheel turns. Not a lot of money and makes big difference. Ok I just read you have a drop pitman arm my lift is 4.5 and I have 2" maybe you need a 3". Rustys was one of the first companies that made XJ lifts and he could tell you what size you need and his prices are pretty good.

You dropped your sway bar 2"? Maybe u meant the track bar. If not an you have a drop pitman arm an not a track bar drop that's your problem. As stated above you have to drop both to get them in line. The sway bar drop idk about. Never heard that one. Usually just get longer links.
