Default Heat only blows on high!

Anyone have this problem where your blower only blows on high. Does this mean the blower is about to go? Don't want to hit winter and not be able to clear the windshield and get heat.

What am I looking for to fix the problem?

Thanks,
Stitch

If your blower works on high, then your blower is good.

Here's what you need:

A blower motor resistor will resist the current to your blower and give you the other lower settings apart from high. They're notorious for burning out. You'll find it behind your glove box area. It's down there somewhere.

Yeah mines only worked on high for like a year because I don't feel like changing the resistor or whatever. As long as you only need high (like here in Maine), you'll be fine.

Yeah.... just replace the resistor. It's never a good idea to force the blower on high all the time as you'll end up wearing that out faster.

Picked up the part. Do you know where it is located on a 2000 XJ?

I was able to remove the lower kick plate from under the glovebox and it was right there.

It was rusted up and had a few pine needle in it.
Plugged the new one in and the blower worked on all levels.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I'm glad it works for you now. Like I said, it's a notorious problem. If the blower ever doesn't turn on at all, then you know it's the blower, but if it only blows on high, it's because something isn't resisting it.
