Default Headliner help

The previous owners of Peej (girlfriend named it) tore the headliner off the sunroof cover. It is bare metal and nasty looking.

I went to Joann's today and bought a yard of hunter green fabric for 7.00 on sale. My plan was to use a spray on adhesive and cover the bare metal and make it look as good as I can.

Is there a proper way to do it?

The current headliner is tan so the hunter green on the visors and sunroof cover should look good.

So do you have the overhead board that came with the XJ? Take out the overhead board and clean off the old adhesive. Then, all you need to do is buy 2 cans of adhesive and attach the fabric to the board. Easy to do.

Redid my headliner and overhead console a couple of years ago. An afternoon and $50 later it looks like factory original.
