Seems its popular amongst the XJ's to need headliners. Did you have to replace yours?

I did but, not with a new headliner. Pulled it out and used undercoating on the roof. Never have to replace the headliner ever again.

I purchased the foam backed material in OEM gray color on Ebay when I did mine like 4 years ago. The cans of adhesive+material was probably 75 bucks, took me about 2 hours to remove (sun roof made it harder) an hour to clean up and remove the old foam then 2 hours to setup the new headliner fabric (i was being really precise with cuts.) I let it dry overnight then put it back in, looked good as new.

Cherokee outlaw- id love to see a pic of your leopard print headliner. I know I don't want the normal headliner material in mine.

Educated craker- camo, it's ingenious! WAY better than that boring regular headliner.

Seems like undercoating on your roof would make it sorta hot in the summer time.

actually it doesn't. The bare metal was freaking hot, but after putting on the undercoating it's perfectly fine. I'll get a picture of it after work.
