This thread is amazing haha
Dear previous owner, thank you for completely ruining the interior. It looked like a child had razor blades for shoes and kicked the headliner then went to town on the carpet.
Thank you for letting all the bushings dry rot.
Thank you hammering it and duct taping everything back.
Thank you for running NO thermostat and a clogged radiator.
That was 3 years ago, all is good now. That guy should never own a vehicle.

to the p.o
thank you for those hidious white raceing stripes painted with house paint across the hood and the tail
thank you for useing foam tape to seal the doors rather then just moveing the door striker back.
thank you for the broken shifter **** and the cross pedals, they collect and hold mud very well
thank you for wireing the foglights so poorly the plastic melted around the switch
thank you for the decent sterio and blown speakers
thank you for the dog that lived in the back seat, 2 years later i still cant get most of the hair out. ( vacumed, shampood and steam cleaned )
thank you for covering the rust holes in the rockers with auto zone dimond plate decals.
thank you for the rear hatch that didnt seal and left puddles of water under the back seat everytime it rained
but most importantly
thank you for keeping up on every fluid change, break change and leaveing me with a decent set of tires. atleast you know the very basics of owning a car.
now its condition is currently better then when you last saw it

Ive drove a couple and got em inspected and still didnt prepare me for the layers of neglect and punisment. The last one i bought the kid had it parked over a sprinkler trying to get the mud off the underside before i got there! I was early and got it for way cheaper! Loved his dad though, charged me half the asking price and charged his d bag kid the other half. And even let me keep the 1200 dollar system his kid was supposed to pull out.

thanks to the previous owner of my jeep for driving her all the way from Massachusetts to S.F. that was smart I guess. thanks for paying all the fees to get a California smog certificate. thanks for all the times you took your dog to the beach and let them trash the interior, that did make it a simple decision to pull it all out the first week I had it. thanks for neglecting to maintain regular maintenance. thanks for selling it SOO cheep I didn't care about any of that and now I love my jeep.

Used cars.
We buy them because they're cheaper. Being cheaper, they're not perfect. Not all issues present themselves on a short test drive or when looking at the car for a while.

I drove mine for a year and change before it was given to me 😜

The key word there being "given". I'm sure the vast majority of us "bought" our XJ's, probably had to travel a moderate distance to get them, and were only able to do a short test drive before deciding to buy or not.
I am pretty sure I had the biggest dip**** owner..
Let's see if I can name all the things i've found thus far.
1. only one bolt holding in each rear shock
2. TC is destroyed. You somehow got 4WD high to work, but Low is a joke ( time for a new case )
3. You blew out the pass side poly bushing on the shock
4. you never installed one on the drivers side
5. you left 3 leaking O-rings on the injectors.
6. both diff fluid resembled tar from the tar pits.
7. you destroyed the rear drums.. WTF were you thinking? I don't even think they were working when I bought it.
8. Guessing you really pissed off some girl, as the Jeep i key'ed ( BTW I don't care, it allowed me to talk you down )
Now the good.
You did live in NC, so my 01 is rust free and I was somehow able to drive it back to IL without dying.
You put brand new KM2's on it 2 months before I bought it
it's very clean all and all
