Oh yeah, that should have popped it if it's still there and hooked up properly. I'd take it off, after safely unhooking it first of course. Or have it replaced. I wouldn't trust driving it without finding out something. JMO

There are two little pods on either corner, behind the grill area.
More closer to the outer side near and under the head lights.
Are they the sensors ????
They are black and look square, about two inches or so...
???

It says there are two sensors in the front-end behind the bumper. It doesn't say what they look like. The air bag module is under the console near the E.-brake lever. To dis-able the air bag un-hook the neg bat. cable and wait 2 minutes for the charge to dissipate before working on it.

That won't accomplish your goal though. Let me look at this manual and figure an easy fix for you.

Default Air Bag

My goal is to drive down the road and not have to think about
some stupid air bag that did not deploy when it should have and
not worry if it will blow off for no reason..

Either unhook the module under the console or ;from the rear of the steering wheel remove the mounting screws for the cover then you can unhook or remove the airbag from the steering wheel. It must be very easy to remove because thieves take them from car lots all the time. JMO

Thank you.
I will look at all you have mentioned.
Air bags are a good thing but if they do not
work in my case with the damage to my Jeep,
They are out of my Jeep !!!
We are talking about tech that is 14 years old....
