Correct me if I am wrong, but dont those vehicles spend most of their life inside a firehouse or garage till they are needed? Not to mention they get washed typically after every call and waxed more frequently then a Jeep will. Wax in that case is your UV inhibitence. Unless you keep up with the waxing...

This is my 950b loader at work it's work involves moving rice hulls, they are very tiny and rough and I bet if you could sand normal paint of with them, this loader has been working in them when the plant opened in 89 still decent paint although I have been told the bucket was yellow when they got it, used btw the bucket actually has holes in the bottom from friction from the rice hulls, damm good paint I would say!

BAS (British Airo Space, and makers of the stryker) is the biggest suppler in the world. Axletech makes axles for both. They used to be Rockwell International, Before that they where Dana axles. You right, Every country has versions of it. And each one has it's own chemical signature. So Radar can tell the friendly, from the unfriendly. Hentzen is the chosen paint, that Oshkosh Truck uses on their military vehicles. When I worked there, We where camouflaging PLS's, The Abraham's A1 tank haulers, Hemtt's (which most of where sand color, and being sold to Saudi) The camouflaging was sprayed all three colors at once. Four painters with three spray guns each. It took under fifteen minutes to do each vehicle. 6-8 vehicles a shift, 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week. (Approx. 150 vehicles a week) When they where done, they would get parked in a neighboring field for a couple of months. Where they would start rusting up. (We used to have to fix them before the left. Would have to respray whole sides. Because the flat paint would not match after it has had time to fade out in the sun) That was just one of their several military paint lines. Their commercial paint line (which used High Gloss, High solids, Two part Akzo paint) is where the USAF Snowblowers (Dark Green), The Crash, Fire Rescues (Slime Green), Cement Trucks (any color the customer wanted). The Fire Trucks are made at Priece Manufacturing, Owned by the Oshkosh Truck Corp. The primer under it is a white two part epoxy primer. (4 mil. of primer, 7 mil. of topcoat req. by government specs.) But a lot of those vehicles left with 20-30 mil. of paint on them. And yes, It is BAE (British Aerospace and Electronics)
