The problem with low miles is its sat for a lot of its life or only went on short drives,Both are really bad on any car.Short drives can cause a lot of condensation slug in the oil.And sitting makes gaskets dry out and get brittle so they crack and leak.I'd take something high mileage thats been taken care of vs something with low miles any day.

like i said there's an exception to every rule but for the most part you are wrong. if a low mileage one was taken care of like this one with 300k on it you are talking about then it will be far superior in most cases.

a low mileage one that has sit under a pine tree for 10 years will most likely be a pile of crap, just like one with 300k that has only had 2 oil changes its whole life.

i'll take the well taken car of low mileage one every day of the week..

in the end it really doesn't matter because that isn't what this thread is about. bottom line to the OP, any guy into any type of vehicles will tell you to buy the cleanest best one you can afford. and if you can't afford it then save more money...

My girl bought a 10 year old car with 30K on it. It had light but even use over the past years, and essentially 1 oil change a year. Now it has 90K on it, and runs great. No real issues except a few things typical of 90k use. Had 1 weird sensor failure from a mouse chewing up the lines, possibly due to sitting around. All the "auto login" car part webstores recommend a 170,000 mile tune up, but it only has 93000, bwahaha
