Hi guys I am new here and mainly here for just expert opinions. I found a pretty nice '93 Cherokee for sale. 5.5in short arm lift and a motor rebuilt 20k miles ago(233k on body). It ran really good and 4wd worked great. I'd be using the rig as a daily driver and a low tier wheeler so no extreme stuff to beat it up. Only issue is that the driver side passenger door has a nice little dent in it that makes the door very difficult to open and close, and that also gave it a branded Title(I live in Oregon if that matters). There was very little drifting in the steering and it handled great. Lenses on most lights are busted but thats cheap. Main negatives are the Dent and a cracked windshield. He's asking $3400 and won't go lower. Yay or Nay? Opinions? Thanks for any help!

depending on the pictures i wouldnt pay more than 3k total. sounds like the troubles are all cosmetic, but all in all looks matter to most people, and they take work. but you have to ask yourself, is the negotiation really worth a couple hundred $?
I wouldn't give him over $2500 for it unless it was super clean. Highly doubt he'd get $3400 for it either. $3000 max and that's if the tires had more tread, the interior was super clean, little to no rust, it didn't need a windshield or the lights replaced. I'd offer him $2000 for it and wouldn't go over $2500.

Ya i agree he's askin too much. I'd do $3k instantly but idk. The interior is very very nice. The exterior stuff is cheap fixes besides the door dent and the windshield. He won't come down anymore though. And someones comin out sunday to trade with him for a trailer. So I'd like to have it, but I just don't know.

Yes I'm payin in cash. It's alot of my savings though but I'll just under a grand left. (I'm only 19 so I'm not rich)
For the Oregon area I think it's priced about average to other jeeps. Most around here are stock and in terrible shape and this one is already had work done and basically the same price.

$2500. Sounds like he doesn't know **** about it since he doesn't go into detail on his parts list, plus its a large lift on short arms. Outsmart him with tech talk and you might get a descent price on it. BTW I had to travel 300 miles to get mine. Don't be afraid to broaden your search.

Well I can't drive far because my current car is a Z28 camaro with 11mpg. so driving far isnt an option because any money I save goes to gas. I told him all I thought about it and all I'd have to fix and replace, but I'd still do $3k cash right there, and he said the lowest he'd go was $3400. He really doesnt know a whole lot about it, but then again, neither do i except the basic stuff.

You need to look at what that vehicle goes for in your area, around here they are a dime a dozen. Other places, they bring a good bit of money. The 5.5" lift on short arms would ride fairly harsh. But otherwise, it looks like a decent rig.
BTW, what year of Camaro?

while not close to you, a decent example of what is out there: http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/3372688032.html

^^ exactly. rigs like that here in southern indiana would go for around 3500, but the previously mentions lift on short arms is a detractor. and kudos to trying to find a good reliable capable vehicle and not asking for mommy and daddy to pay for it. and to echo motorcharge, pull out that cash in a public place, count it out, and it he still says no then walk away. you cant seem to desperate or you give him all the cards. hope you can grab it for a fair price!!
