Gone over to the Dark side
Well Cheri is still rattling, and I needed a daily driver. I broke down, and bought a 2012 Wrongler. My son tells me I can't call them that since I own one now, but I told him I could. They are the only Jeep left now. I don't want any of the others. Cheri still gets driven all the time, Plus my son is learning to drive, and Wren is a manual transmission. The boy thinks clutches are evil.

I have changed the Headlights on both. I just have to make a new harness for Wren like I did for Cheri. The lights are so much brighter when they are powered directly from the battery. Plus the new computer shut them off if you put in bigger bulbs. Gonna do the fogs at the same time. 100 watt fat boys when I'm done. The rattle in Cheri is the flex plate. My son is going to have to pull the transmission/transfer as a unit, and replace it. It should be a learning lesson for him. $90 part-Garage wants $700 to put one in.

A friend of mine at work bought one of the 4 door versions (2011 auto v6 I think) and really likes it. He says there's much more driver leg room than previous models AND it gets better gas milage. Even the 2 door models are longer and wider than their predecessors and as such, are more stable off road. The coil springs on all 4 corners doesn't hurt either.
