I've already explained my experience on engines/cars etc is shocking low so I appologise for asking this but................what does SW stand for? as in 1997 JEEP CHEROKEE 2.5 TD Limited 5dr Sw Diesel

It has to be a UK thing because a lot of the diesels are sw diesels. Diesels are few and far between in the states.

SW...
Station Wagon, because in reality thats all a Cherokee and more every other SUV is, a Station Wagon, just doesn't sound as cool and S.U.V. or what I hate "Truck" its not a friggen truck. But I laugh at everyone that calls a SW a Truck too.
From the Lowly Kia Sportage, the over sized Ford Expedition.
Trucks have beds and no rear hatch/door, so its a SW.

wrong it stands for short wheel base... in the uk the also sell LW for commerical reasons... that stands for Long wheelbase...

hope this clears up everything...
