Me to It looks like it's small on the passenger side but the the drivers one kinda looks like it going down the door arch

 

I think I would be less worried about the rust on the roof and more about the rocker that is half missing unless you plan to weld in box steel for rock sliders. Even so from what I can see in the pics I would be willing to bet the floors are rusted out as well.

 

If it were me I'd keep the truck. That jeep looks like it's a rust bucket and your truck seems solid from the picture. Or maybe keep your truck and offer him a crazy low amount for the jeep. Just what I think

 

Pass. The XJ is a rust bucket. I would be concerned more about the rust that I can't see than the rust that I can. ......and what we can see isn't good. Keep the truck.

 

Ok thanks guys I got another question on the 99s with the head issues how can I tell if it's been swapped to the aftermarket head to fix that problem I got offered a 99 last night but I remembered you guys said on a different post to steer clear from them

 

99s dont have the issue. everyone says "a few 99s may have the bad head " but ive never ever seen one with the 0331. easy to tell, if it has coil packs its bad. if it uses a distributor its good. 99s are the best year to look at

looks good. examine that rust on the rear quarter panels. crawl under it and look at every piece of metal you can for rust

 

That one also looks like it has cancer from every angle. Definitely check underneath, where it is most likely much worse.
