Default gauge question?

to i see pictures of peoples gauges on here and no one has the same gauge set up as me..... I have 2 gauges in my 89 xj a speedometer and a gas gauge...no rpm gauge nothing, and all the other gauges are just lights that com on when there is a problem

I have the idiot light set up also. I'm going to swap it out one of these days for one with full gauges. Idk who decided we needed such a big gas gauge.

man i know, every time i have a friend in the jeep there like why is your gas gauge were the rpms should be? i really cant answer that lol

The gauges are really just a guess anyway. They aren't accurate at all. Your much better off getting aftermarket gauges.

I've got a temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, volt meter, gas gauge, speedo...and I think thats it.

No tach.

I dont need a tac. I know where I'm at or close to it by sound. My 99 has tac tho unlike the 96 which is good cuzz my 99 is so quiet.

I despise indicator lights. You have no idea as to what is going on until its too late. I added this volt meter and will add a temperature gauge next.

My 92 Ford F150 didn't come with a tach either. 5 speed manual as well.

How do you do the gauge swap? It's not a direct, unhook one then hook up the other, swap is it?
