I did that this morning. It died not even 100 yards from my house. It didn't start. Ieven had my son turn the key while I had it pushed in and nothing not even a drop. I tried tolisten to the fuel pump dut couldn't hear it. I was about 150 yards from a major hwy so that made it a little hard to hear it. When it stops raining I'm going to take the pump off and exchange it for warranty and get a better pump.

 

I got the fuel pump changed out and found a broken weld. Got it put back together with the old hose clamps from the old pump. I'm assuming the pump is grounded to the tank. If so then that would have been causing the vehicle to spit and sputter from not being grounded.
