Fuel injector rail
I have A 2001 Cherokee XJ. One of the injectors is leaking at the fuel rail . All the injectors and seals are new but the fuel rail looks pretty bad. I have a used fuel rail in better shape than the one I have. But it came off of a 98 Wrangler 4.0L. It looks the same as the one I have on there except it doesn't have the little round thing on the center of the rail. I'm not sure what that is or if it makes a difference. Can I use that fuel rail? I don't know if it will work, but odds are you nicked the o ring when installing the new injector. It's amazing, but the tiniest cut will produce the nastiest gush of fuel.
Yes I thought the same thing. The injectors were very hard to install in the fuel rail. The older fuel rail is in much better condition and I'm pretty sure it will fit. They look identical when you hold them sid by side. I'm just not sure what the round thing on the XJ fuel rail is for or if it's necessary.
