If I wanted to turn my current bumper into a stinger, could I? It appears I could be fine, as long as I reinforce it properly, right?

Let me know your thoughts. Are stinger front bumpesr on the Cherokees a bit redundant, cause of the wheel base? I don't know if I'd want to do it just for looks, I'd want it to serve some purpose, or be there just in case.

The stinger doesn't stick out far.... I'd say probably about 10 inches. I daily drive my rig through country and city.... never had a problem. The stinger actually makes it easier to parallel park because you can see EXACTLY where your front end is.

Oh wow! Nice! So you got this one I take it?
"Stinger
Made from 1 5/8" ERW Tubing, .120" Wall, 34" wide, 22.5" tall or custom made."
For $45? Am I missing anything? Would I just need that, and then weld it to my bumper and that's it? I'll have to measure to make sure it goes where I'd like it on my bumper. Do you think making one myself would be the better option? And one more question, with that setup, how much more difficult is it working on your engine?
Thanks

As far as the stinger and working on the engine, I don't stand on the ground while working under my hood. Really uncomfortable to be stretched out all the time (which is a result of my lift, not the stinger). The stinger doesn't impede on me working under the hood at all.

That is the stinger I got, but i cut mine down quite a bit to fit where and how i wanted it. To install, all you have to do is cut it to the size/angle you want and weld it on. If you have access to a Bender to bend a decent thickness of tube than feel free to make your own. The one l & l sells has nice thick walls so it is plenty strong for a stinger.

I haven't purchased the stinger yet, since I plan on doing this over break, and break starts next week. I was thinking of doing it myself. I'm sure the stinger from l&l would work great, but I'd like to try doing it myself. If I were to do my own stinger, what's the best tubing or pipe I can buy?
