Front plate?
Got pulled over tonight again for the classic "I pulled you over for no front plate.... now lets talk about your doors...."
It's time for the pigs to find a different way to harass me... I have decided to attach a front plate.
I am taking suggestions for how/where to attach said plate... here is the law:
32-5-98. Operation without distinctive number prohibited--Conspicuous display--Removal of unauthorized numbers--Violation as misdemeanor. Except as otherwise specifically provided, no person may operate or drive a motor vehicle on the public highways of this state unless such vehicle shall have a distinctive number assigned to it by the department, and two number plates, bearing such number conspicuously displayed, horizontally and in an upright position, one on the front and one on the rear of such vehicle, each securely fastened. The plates shall at all times, as far as is reasonably possible, be kept clear and free of mud, ice, or snow so as to be clearly visible. All number plates, markers, or stamps evidencing registration or licensing of any vehicle in this or any foreign state, territory, district, or possession and any plate, marker, or stamp used in substitution for or in lieu of the number plates required by this section by virtue of any law or executive order for any prior year or years shall be removed from such vehicles. A violation of this section is a Class 2 misdemeanor.

Here are my rules:
The front plate shall not hinder the precious airflow into the engine bay, the front plate shall follow all state laws. The plate, when attached, shall not make the Jeep look Ghetto-Hillbilly. The plate shall be securely attached in a cool manner and will not be jerry-rigged, ghetto-fabbed, zip-tied, duct-taped, or bale wired. The plate shall not be fastened in a way to where it reduces the ground clearance or approach angle, or would be easily ripped off while wheeling.
Here is a pic of my XJ (pay no attention to the baby tires that are on it in the pic, I have 33's now....get off my back, its the best pic I have of the front)

And just to prove to you that I have 33's on it now....

The winner will receive 5 hi-fives and a firm handshake.... along with your choice of 1 item from the dollar menu...... and......go!

You could get a stock front license place mount at the JY. I am SO glad that here in Arkansas, only the rear plate is required. No inspection and no emissions testing either.

So, your state requires that you have a license plate on the front. You don't run it because you think it looks bad and then complain when you get pulled over? Really?
Just mount the thing on there like it's supposed to be in the OEM bracket or fold it to match the contour of the bumper and put sheet metal screws in it. Done. It can't look worse than the hacked up OEM bumper.
If you want it to look right, buy a winch bumper, winch and a license plate bracket that snaps into the winch fairlead. Problem solve.
Why do you have a drag slick on your roof?
You can keep your five.
