Front end
What's up guys. I know I post a lot of questions but when I first got my xj it was taken care of at all. So here it goes. My 4x4 will lock in and works good and everything but I was up under mine yesterday and I grabbed the front shaft and turned it and it has a lot of slack. What could be causing the slack my unions r bad in the front but the u joints wouldn't cause as much slack as it has.

It's a 96 Cherokee not sure if transfer case but it's automatic with the 4.0. My front end has a lot of slack. I can get under it with it in park and turn my front shaft at a full 90 degrees. Should this much slack be normal?

There is a round label on the transfer case it should be stamped on the red and silver tag that is fastened to like in the picture provided. It should be something like 231 or 242.

IDK if 90 degrees of play is excessive but a look inside the housing is never a bad idea as cruiser is suggesting.
