Not really a tech question, but where does everyone get their axle shaft seals? I went over things with my parts Pro from Advance Auto Parts, and got the seals. Tore down the front axle today, shafts out, carrier out, took the first seal out that sits in the differential housing, and wow, not even close. Took it to Advance, and after closer investigating, they don't have a part listing. ??????
So I went down the road to Autozone... same thing. No part listing. Tried another Advance where I used to order through for my shop, found one of the guys who used to handle my account. Same dice. Napa, nothing. Given, it's a Sunday, I do know of other places that would have it during the week. And of course the Jeep dealer would, but that's not my point.
How, in the heck, can you not have stock, let alone even a part number, for a seal, for one of the most used axles in history?? Seriously, we know there are several variations of the Dana 30 sure. But not even listing a part? Come on!
O.E.M. part #3636-2. I'll upload some pictures of what I've come across. I know it'll be easy enough to get, just blown away. I can't be the first person that's run into this.

My O.E. on the left, with National P/N #6815 on the right. These are what I ordered over the phone from my Advance Parts Pro a few weeks ago, didn't take the axle apart until today.

Then, realizing thats wrong, started driving around all afternoon trying to find the right seal today. Went to another Advance I used to deal with at the old shop, and got National P/N #710068. Pictured here. Same as you listed 96_XJ -

All three for reference -

The only thing I can think of, is once you mentioned 710068, it does look close. But mine doesn't have the huge sleeve on the back side. Unless it used to. Sure as hell wasn't present anywhere today though.

it also has a CAD axle probably... the CAD shaft (2 piece long side) is a bit bigger because of the splines by the colar.
