front axle id?
everyone is always talking about the rear axles but what about the fronts? do we only have the d30? no other factory options?

only the D-30 came on the front of the XJ...yes the rear end has had several different rear ends...depending on the year, some have a d-44, some have a d-35 and some have a chrysler 8.25

Yeah, i'd imagine it's pretty rare. I seem to remember most being a South American option.
Years ago there were some found in a warehouse and a few company's bought them up. 4wheelparts and the like.. or thats how i remember the story.

yep, from my understanding the 44 fronts were never released in the states in an XJ. At least that's what I've heard. But a few have made there way over the border from mexico.
