Hmm cool, apparently I'm the 4th owner. First owner only owned it for 4k miles, second owner owned it up until late 2011 for 5 months.

guys....can you try mine because I might be reading it wrong. 1J4FJ58S3ML616171 is my vin #. here's the link that I used above with my vin # http://charlieobaugh.com/AutoCheckRe...1#full-history

Here's my problem. The owner all the way through 1/09/2012 was in cape coral and looks they sold it to a auction with 347,956miles. But I bought it 7/12/2012 as you can see on the report with 160,000miles. Good possibility the guy who sold it to me re-wound the odometer? Its pretty clean and I haven't had any problems since I bought it which makes me think the 345,956miles is a type-o

I saw that too! Not sure if you can rewind them but you can get one with lower miles no problem.

So I probably got screwed over. I've put about another 5,000 miles on it and it doesn't seem like it runs like it would if it had 350,000+ miles on it.
You saw it on your vin check?

I'd definitely report that to the proper authorities. Tampering with an odometer is a crime and should be treated as such.

Find out who auctioned it off and get all of the details for the vehicle.

Sec. 580.9 Odometer record retention for auction companies. Each auction company shall establish and retain at its primary place of business in an order that is appropriate to business requirements and that permits systematic retrieval, for five years following the date of sale of each motor vehicle, the following records: (a) The name of the most recent owner (other than the auction company); (b) The name of the buyer; (c) The vehicle identification number; and (d) The*odometer*reading on the date which the auction company took possession of the motor vehicle. [[Page 818]]*

Also report the fraud here. http://www.nhtsa.gov/Odometer-Fraud

I'd also check around your dash and cluster to look for signs of the cluster being replaced with a lower mileage one.

Check with your insurance company as well. They should be able to confirm if that mileage is correct or not.

On the older style mechanical odometers it is possible to reset/adjust them.
