Red face The First World Problems of Owning a JEEP!!

Update: I still haven't figured out the fuel gauge!
I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee! I traded my Hyundai Tiburon off for this beauty! I must say I love it, so much more power than my little tiburon! My brother & father has owned jeeps! I decided I'd go for a Jeep! I LOVE IT!! Although, My brother is very experienced with vehicles and cannot figure out why the gauge will not work. We tried the wire and try to get it go back on track. Can anyone tell me if Jeeps run with the negative & positive toward the fuel gauge? has anyone had this and can tell me their figuring? Thank you

What is the gauge doing? The gauges are never very accurate, and ethanol in gasoline causes the sending unit to corrode, causing the gauge to read weird or not work at all

One thing I would check is pull the oump/sending unit out and make sure the wire is still attached to the float...mine had come off and caused my gauge not to work.

There shouldn't be a difference between the two tanks. If you had a 96 then yes.
