Default Finished my d44 swap!

It took me 2 days, but it's done!! Yeah, I know it bolts right in, but 8 months ago I'd never even looked under the hood of a car before, so I'm feeling pretty proud right now.

Needed extra time to rebuild both drum brakes, bench bleed the master cylinder, swap in extended brake lines, get pissed and drink a beer after my brake fluid jar tipped over, etc.

Yes, it has oil now..

Cool man!! You said it was bolt in? You didnt have to do any fabrication for the suspension?

I found one of the elusive XJ dana 44s on craigslist a few months ago. Drove an hour to pick it up, totally worth it. No fab needed.

May I ask how much you paid? Mine was $250 at the junk yard. But then I rebuilt it and regeared too...

$380, in the shape you see it. Needs some paint in the spring but otherwise pretty good. Wheel cylinders turned out good, but the drums and shoes turned out to be worthless.

And then of course I dropped another $1000 for a regear and a truetrac. Just reading that makes me cringe. I think I need another beer.
