How do you remove the factory cross bars? Thanks

Tie a rope to them, and then the other end to a tree... and gass it!

Tried that...

Is there a more humane way of removing them. I see done of you guys have three, and I would like a third.

i have four but mine came like that. no clue how to take them off. shouldnt be to hard though

Remove the end cap on the bars they attach to, then just slide them off. You need a torx bit to remove the end cap.

Yeah Whitetail is right, the end caps on the rails (see my delicate and artistic arrow!) come off when you undo the awkward little torque screw. Once the end cap is off, you push the buttons in on your rails and they slide right off... or on, if you want to add more.

You can also remove them from the front too. Not just the back.

yep - they slide off either way. Been thinking about replacing mine - theyre quite badly rusted.
