Factory 4.56?
I was researching on axles for the xj on google and I found an entry about 4.56 gearing from the factory.
As well as u know how 4 banger xj have 4.10 gears, I found out that those 4 banger xj, if equipped with aw4 tranny and a towing package, they r equipped with 4.56 gearing.
Can anyone verify this as a fact?

Ive heard that from a buddy of mine. I couldnt tell you for sure though, as I've never actually seen a 2.5 Jeep with an automatic.
I'm curious if anyone does know for sure though.

According to this there was a factory 4.56, but the 30 looks like a disconnect axle and the rears are d 35.http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...and_Ratios.htm

Yeah I don't think I ll try to look for them tho. Because of the rarity and chances is, if I do find it t junkyard, the axles probably would be already done. I'm better off buying new gears for my axles Plus I don't have to wait and wait while searching for them.

Nah, you have the 29 spline 8.25 and non disconnect front end. No need down grading to a D35 and disconnect front axle. As you posted earlier you would be way better off regearing your current axles.

I definitely will be doing that Instead. I wouldn't want to downgrade anything on the jeep so it ll break in the future then I ll have to upgrade it. Waste of time.
I was just curios about the rarity of factory 4.56 gears.
