Every Day Carries for the xj
So I finally got my first XJ on the road. It has its gremlins and such and I just want to know of some good things to carry with me incase I ever get stranded somewhere. The thing is though, I want to keep it all neat and hidden. So my question is, what can I smuggle underneath that back seat!?! I want a socket set for the jeep but one that'll fit under that seat and whatever tools you guys recommend also!
Under my rear seat: winch remote, extra serpentine belt, work gloves, rags, small hand tools, energy bars and a few water bottles
In the rear storage compartment inside of something like this: http://www.organization-store.com/he...FQ6oaQodeLUAkw
Small hatchet, foldable shovel, matches, lighters, basic tool kit to repair minor things in case of break down, recovery strap, battery jumper cables, transmission fluid, oil, coolant and distilled water, power steering fluid, extra u joints, bottle Jack, 4 way, fuses, wiring kit... I'm sure I'm forgetting somethings
Built a kit to repair most things on the side of the road in the event of a break down. Slowly building it up as I go... Keep on hand whatever you feel is necessary... 5% tint keeps everything hidden

My wife and I are solo 90+% of the time and not unusual to be 20mi. or so from the nearest dirt road or house. So we try to carry most items that are known for breakage and failures on an XJ with mods like ours parts wise new and used ones.
I have the area under both seats loaded plus covers on seat backs for guns (3) ammo, other gear. The cargo area in the rear is full of large storage containers, tool box, gear bags, "First Responder first aid bag", shovel, pick, 12# hammer, hoe, lots of recovery gear, misc. Hi-Lift jack is mounted on rear bumper behind spare tire.
When trail ready the roof rack is used also for extra fuel, water, axles, tarps (can be used for shelter or on ground if working on Jeep in mud or snow).
