I was just having a conversation about how badass diesel swapped jeeps are. Go for it. Mercedes, cummins, or whatever you want to do.

The vw diesel will be the lightest weight and make enough power.A 4bt cummins is 750lbs almost 200lbs heavier then the 4.0.I would skip a diesel and go ls a 5.3 truck motor and trans are cheap enough and can be built up pretty nasty of you want that.As far as mileage the ls and a diesel would be pretty close in the real world.

I hate diesels, Cherokees were available from the factory here in the UK with a 2.5 turbo diesel. They're noisy, smelly and slow. They also like a headgasket or three.

But each to their own!

People keep saying they are going to cut never do! I would love to see one. Problem is usually the weight. Plus with something like the LS, Novak makes it really really easy.
