End caps and side things...
I don't know the things on the doors are called, but there's a single strip of them on most XJs. They're like, some sort of plastic thing. Anyway, those things and the end caps, do they come in black? Right now mine are like, a light gray. I don't know if they used to be black or what, but if I can get a new set in black, and any of you can point in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

For what it's worth the things on the sides are called rub strips. They and the endcaps came from the factory black. Ive heard of using a hairdryer to bring back the black but I think you would be better off painting them black using spray paint or bedliner etc...

Okay so I'm going to do the bedliner spray thing next weekend. Will http://www.jcwhitney.com/aerosol-tru.../p2022585.jcwx work, or should I use something else? Also... how much should I get?

Try the heat gun method first, yuo'll be surprised how good they look. If you have a Harbor Freight near you go there buy a cheap heat gun and start on the rubstrip, when it starts to turn black start moving it back and forth until it is all black. I did mine a couple of months ago and they still look good.

Before...
After (A few hours)
Turned out well, but certain areas turned back to the blue you see in pic 2... so Ill hit it again and see how it turns out.
Anyone who trys this... remove from vehicle first. The heat gun nearly caught the wet newspaper I had layed down. I doubt you want to subject your paint or other materials to this strees.
Also if you think youre going to be able to get any results from a hairdryer guess again. I had to use mine on high setting and keep it less than 1/2 inch rom it to get the results...
So all in all painting may be easier.
