Electric fan shorting out?

Yeah a couple years ago I figured it out by looking through wiring diagrams. I opened up the relay and bypassed the AC with a switch. It worked for a few days until the switch burnt out (I must have of done the current/voltage math wrong). That also through a code and I couldn't pass emissions testing. In the end I replaced the AC and the fan worked.
Make sure you've checked all fuses and relays before you invest in a new AC.
