Default :dunno: Electronics cleaner?

I need to refreash and clean all my grounds and electrical connections.

A very reliable source suggested getting a good cleaner, which I assume comes in a spray can. I've never used any of the stuff.

Anyone have a good suggestion on what to get and where to get it?

Auto parts store? Napa? Advance?

Electronic supply outfit? Radio Shack? Home depot?

Any parts store will have electrical contact cleaner. But I think its probably better suited to the finer aspects of electrical. If you are cleaning contacts for cables, like eyelets, cable ends etc. use a wire brush. You can always use it to clean the ends after, but it will not remove corrosion or oxidation on large ends.

I used this to clean the gunk out of my starter. Works great. I think any parts store would have it.

Ah, that's what I mean. if your cleaning regular electrical connectors than yes, electrical contact cleaner. If your cleaning main grounds and larger cables/ends than a wire brush.

X2 on the cleaner, (like dashboard connections) and a brass brush on ground lugs and such.
