Like the title say, can i drive without my front driveshaft?
Planning on using it to replace my rear driveshaft until i can afford a TW driveshaft.

Thanks in advance.

You can but I'm not sure if you can/should use your front drive shaft as a rear...

The ujoints are different sizes to start with, I'm sure there are other reasons not to use it as a rear.

Thx for the reply.

I'm planning on doing a 4.5" lift with SYE and based on what i read, a front driveshaft from an auto XJ would work fine.....please correct me if i'm wrong.

Thx.

If you have an auto and the correct xj front ds then yes. If you have an ax15 then the front ds will not work because will be to short

Thanks for the info, I had never heard of using a front drive shaft as a rear. I've got plenty of spare front's and no rears. Guess I'm set. Wish I would have known that when my ujoint **** the bed on my rear ds...

Also certain zj front ds are at 33 collapsed length. If you ever go up in left and need longer don't want to spend the $300 getting one made then look into those. Here is a pic to help you out

As long as it's not a AWD t-case like what comes in some grands. With those it will roll with the front shaft out, not sure if a 242 in 4full would do it or not.

One last question....
Do i have to modify the u-joint or yoke on the front ds for use on the rear (with SYE)?

no modification needed except for the SYE. it might be good to replace u joints if they are old while you have it out
