Default Drift manche?

I've been tossing around ideas for the Comanche, and I've already got a lifted Cherokee that's 4wd, so I don't really need something else 4wd so no reason to swap it for now, I have a motorcycle for going pretty quick, so why not make the Comanche go sideways? Figured it might be a fun idea. Lower it a touch possibly, stiffer sway bar, hydraulic hand brake and a limited slip or Locker in the rear. It will be a ways off before this would be a done deal, and I have other things I'd do before most of the drift related stuff, but figured I'd throw it up there and see what ya'll think. Already going to autocross it on the 17th. So it's practically a race truck!

Honestly the suspension set up between handling and drifting is night and day.The steering angle kit will be the biggest problem for a drift set up,No one makes one and making your own will be hard to do.The front sway bar will be gone stiffer front springs to make up for it.A lot of inter fender well cutting out and fabbing up.The other thing is the slow ratio box it has,A couple of steering companies will custom make a quick ratio box but its 350 bucks and up.The other thing is what engine and trans you want to have ?

I plan to build a stroker for it sometime, but for now it's a 4.0 with a 5 speed. It would be a mostly stock mobber only reason for a hydro brake is because the current e-brake is a foot brake. I'd like to lower it a touch when I get another set of tires probably 2-3" in the rear and 1-2" in the front since it's currently raked. Figure a kinda cheap fun toy. Nothing too serious. I will for sure be autocrossing it when the autocross isn't the same weekend as wheeling trips.

Personally, I wouldnt set it up for drifting. But for autocross, I am all for it. Drifting get expensive real fast with the amount of tires you will go through. At least with autocross, tires last a few events. Races are also a lot cheaper and easier to find for autocross over drifting (in my area at least).

This is probably a better idea.... but it's still fun to get sideways

Trust me, you still get sideways on the autocross course if you are pushing it hard enough. Trail braking is a skill that you will need and that will set you up for a nice clean drift exit.

Clemson sports car club hosts an autocross once a month the next one is the February 17. It's in the C1 parking lot. I can put up some more info if you'd like.

Yes, in something rear wheel drive. I'm used to the Jetta. I'm still learning how to quickly drive in the autocross, but it's a fun, safe place to learn.

I don't really have any friends that watch and could video, but I'll try and mount my go pro on the truck, not sure where to mount on a vehicle for the best view though
