Default door removal

I've been reading up on door removal lately and upon taking a good look at my own doors, it seems like i can just unbolt the torx screws to take the door off? Surely it can't be that simple

It would probably be a pain to take them out and put them back in every time. Plus you would have to line them back up and the hinge would probably look weird just hanging there. If you just cut them you only have to hassle with it once then it's pretty simple to take them on and off and only takes a minute or two.

You dont want to un bolt the torx screws. You'll have to get the doors re-aligned. Its better to cut the hinges. Theres tons of write-ups on it. Theres also pre-97 hinges and +97 hinges. The pre-97 seam to be easier but i think it can be done with the +97's. And the plugs for the wires are in the kick panels. Its so worth it! Plus everyone looks at you funny!

Yeah I've done plenty of research and I think I'll be going doorless this summer, as both of my front doors sag anyway.

I love it. I actually dislike having my doors on now.

I have the removable door mod on mine (now being parted out) loved having the doors off, and then when i put them back on, i always felt cramped. but do it, it is worth it!! i had manual locks and windows, so i just removed the speakers, slid the sound bar forward, and put some 6x9s in the rear..

Default removable Soft doors

- I preferred to cut the pins so the doors can be replaced as needed qwkly.
- when the doors are off you need to ensure you have replaced the mirrors prior to driving on the road.

GOOD LUCK

so for the newer xj doors like mine is a 98 just cut the factory pin out or knock it out and replace it with a new one with a carter pin to hold it in ?

wish my 98 had the old style like my 95 i just cut the bottom ear off all the doors took a drill bit same size as the hole and just barely skimmed the wall to make them easyer to go on and off and i slide all my door son and off just like a wrangler does took me maybe 1 min to take all 4 doors off maybe 2 min to put them back on it was so easy my doors didnt sag or anything open and closed just like factory
