but I do mind working on the same issue over and over to get it fixed. First water pump went out, got that fixed so I thought, then it leaked. redo with new gasket. Replaced therm housing, it leaked redid it still leaked then realized it was warped from factory finally got that done. Power steering pump started leaking, got a new one, during install the return nipple breaks off so returned it for another got it installed. Took it for a ride, returned home and of course a few drops of antifreeze hit the ground. GRRRRRRRR

You using gasket maker on the gasket to block side? Or just gasket?

There's always slight imperfections in the thermostat housing. I always use a light coat of RTV on both sides of the gasket. I have not had one leak yet.

I will add, if you have the sensor in the housing by the T-stat, you may want to use the "sensor safe" gasket maker. I work at an International truck dealership and the guys in the shop say it helps a ton keeping your sensors working.

Also cheapo after market remaned parts are just that... cheap.

There's some things that are way better to buy OEM parts.

Got therm housing to sealed with RTV only with new housing. Thinking my drops might be from a hose not quite tight enough.. PATIENCE is good advice. Used Hightack gasket sealer with gasket on water pump which seems to be working.
