This is more about options vs cost. Hope it has a d44...its already got decent tires, and imho sweet rims, its a decent color, looks better than a 96+, now what are the miles? Hope it doesn't have abs...interior, extra parts? Auto or stick?...get ALL THE DETAILS, then decide. Good luck. And ultimately, don't let anyone on here make your decision for you. Go with your gut after knowing what you're getting into.

if it's 5 speed thats another reason to stay away from it. peugot is terrible I can attest to that
I've owned a renix before and hated it. that 88 is not for me I would never consider another jeep from the 80's
dana 44 or not. I'd rather have an 8.8 anyway

oh for sure bro. for sure
OP do what you want. he likes his renix. lots of people do. the 96 is a lot better for a beginner IMO
or someone who doesnt know a whole lot about engines. I dont know where you're at. but my vote is 1990+

Bought an 88 worse than all the ones you posted here for $800. She has unknown miles but still shes now my weekend wheeler and my daily driver. These engines are rock solid. You cant go wrong with either and im sure you are aware that any jeep you buy this cheap is gonna be a project anyway.

should I still go for the first one or just keep looking?
