Do you have the itch? Have you been bitten BY the Jeep bug?

Yeah man I got the itch when I was about three or four years old. My dad had an old J-10 and I can remember that it was just cool. When I got older and had a chance to, I couldn't find a J-10 but my grandad ended up with a XJ and I hit him up for it. "FREEBIE!" He gave it to me. No questions asked other than did he need to help me pay for some parts. Now my XJ is road worthy and fun. Dang that bug, the bump just keeps itching no matter how much I scratch it.

Mine was tan with camo stickers. It also came with a fuel can. Later on, my dad put a motorcycle battery in it so it lasted longer between charges...

After having a job for 3 years the bug bit me in 96 when I bought my first new vehicle, a 96 XJ. From there it was a project 84 CJ 7, then a 1994 YJ, and now the 99 XJ. I had the YJ for about 5 years when my wife spotted a built XJ, and said it I should check it out. As everyone knows, if your wife comes out and gives you the OK without you asking you have to do it. People at work think I'm nuts because I'm always parking on top of stuff, like snow mounds, whatever. They just don't understand.

Hahaha, lol, it's true, i sometimes come late (always) at work and the parking is full, i have once parked on a sand mound between the fence and the parking lot and the others were looking at me as if i was drunk, haha, they just don't get it that we see every surface practicable, that sand mound has become my private parking spot, and at the mall, i never remember the fkn color and sector where i parked, when i get out i just look for the spare tire on the roof rack that protrudes over every other vehicle, hahahahaa, it's just beautiful.

I got bit as a child & it left an inprint! I was about 12 when we had slid off the trail in my dads 1976 blazer with a blow out! It was snowing
like mad out in the middle of no where, when a group of about 5-10 jeeps came up the trail! They winched us out of the ditch
& popped our tire back on the bead! Then as we turned around to get off the mountain they kept on going up the canyon trail!
It was at that point I knew I had been bitten by the jeep bug!!! When I turned 16 my dad told me if I could get the blazer up & runnin it was mine
I got it running then sold it for $700 & bought my 89 xj for $500! I've never looked back!!!
MUST READ!!!!!!
