Default Different Fab... TJ Dash into XJ????

has anyone ever put a TJ dash into an XJ??? I know it sounds odd, but I'm doorless, and the idea of having the speakers in the dash would be great!!! Not to mention all the goodies available for TJ dashes... Both vehicles are pretty skinny.

What do you guys think, I'm sue it may involve some Fab, but im more concerned about wiring and gauge clusters, etc...

my jeep has no abs or cruisecontrol, but it does have AC

Thought about a metal dash once. But then thought about how it would feel smashing into it in an accident.

I thought the whole reason to buy a Cherokee was to have a Cherokee?...not to turn it into a wrangler...

Personally.........as far out of the box 'I' think.......I would'nt bother......also think it's too narrow.......I'd apply my time elsewhere.

2 cents.

Sorry, Guys, I totally forgot about this tread. My jeep is a 98.

Reasoning? Absolutely None, other than that I run doorless a lot and speakers in the dash would be cool, plus the aftermarket fo TJ dashes is pretty good.

Practicality? NONE LoL... just a novel Idea... TJ dashes look tougher, less civilized...lol

Chances of me getting around to trying it??? Slim, but I may.. I have A LOT going on right now..

food for thought though!

What about just mounting speakers in your XJ dash?

Ive thought about it, but there isnt any way to do a clean install. For now, I'm going to find one of those Dealer Soundbars that went in the back (the non molded in type) and locate it a little back from wher the dome light sits

Its supposed to be easy. If I remember correctly you just need to loosen the side molding and screw it at the overhead light just like the rear is. Also run the speaker wire under the head liner

pull the lower part of your dash off... there are spots on both ends of the dash for speakers. 3" or so. your not gonna get some crazy bass or any thing from them but it works when you wanna run doorless. and then you can put some tweeters in the A piller... super clean. its what i did...
