Its a simple fix, front clip from a '97-'01 from the JY, 80 dollar ebay radiator, figure another 200 in misc. stuff. As your jeep sits its worth 5-600, thats going off what i see them listed on craigslist all the time, also my uncle owns a body shop and often buys wrecked cars to fix and make a profit, i know what he pays for stuff like that. Do some digging around the JYs and see what you find, its not worth selling it like that because you will take too much of a hit, insurance will for sure total it so dont go that route.

 

And value of a car cant be calculated by parts value, somebody who chooses to buy a car to part accepts the fact that they will be sitting on it for a while until they find a buyer. As the seller of a wrecked vehicle who chooses not to repair you have to make the choice between making a fast 500 dollars or taking the time to part it out and possible make upwards of a grand.

 

I even offered him 800.

 

I like my jeep, and you guys are inconsiderate to other owners, who wouldn't want to be a part of that. If I had hit the deer in my crx I'd be dead, so thanks for the wonderful advice.

No just somebody just thinks your jeep is worth more than it is. If you dont let it go for 1200 your crazy. I paid 1200 for a running, driveable and inspected jeep with no body damage and extensive maintenance records, oh and a 5 speed

Here are 2 i just found showing what wrecked XJs are worth, year dont matter much when your buying for parts, also notice how the first one has a recently rebuilt engine and is documented? Just because he has probably a grand or so in that dont make his jeep worth a grand

This kid didnt get offered that much. And to come on here and belittle people when thy are offering advice, to the problem YOU posted about is ridiculous. Seriously, get rid of the jeep, get yourself back into the ricer scene, and leave the jeepin' to ppl that know, or want to learn about this awesome past time. It just sucks the deer had to die for you.

 

. oh and since when did the offer jump from 1000 to 1200. i didnt know wrecked xjs would have people bidding at a higher price then what they are worth not wrecked.
