Default Debating on Jeeps

Hello all, i currently own a 1987 Jeep Cherokee with a huge list of problems with it but somehow it still runs. It has 135k original miles on it and it is completely stock. The problem i'm having is weather or not i should buy a newer model so i can avoid dealing with the Renix system in it or not worrying with buying a newer one and just fixing it up. I just feel like it isn't worth it but at the same time i hate seeing it go to waste just sitting there in its corner.

Well, the later years aren't exactly trouble free.

Have you completed Tips 1 through 5 yet?

The Renix system is easy to work with, once you get it figured out. Stick with it. I LOVE MY 90, VERY simple.

I think I'm going to end up staying with my 87 and just keep slowly working with it.

Tips 1 through 5 take only a few hours at most.

I've actually started cleaning the c101 connector. But I'm thinking about doing the c101 delete instead because the tar buildup is really bad.

You could just clean it for now and revisit it later.

Get the other stuff done.

So i cleaned C101 Connector as best as i could and hooked it back up. I tried to take off the ground located behind the oil dipstick and it just spun. It never came off, so i ended up spraying wd40 on it and now im just letting it sit over night.

WD-40 is a very poor penetrating oil. It wasn't designed for that originally, though they do claim it now.

PB-Blaster is much better. If you can stand the price, Kroil is even better.

Well that's good to know. Unfortunately all I had on hand was WD-40, so I was just working with what I had.

Also I just ordered some Kroil online, hopefully that will do the job. Reading from the reviews on Amazon it seems to be some really good stuff.
