Default Dashboard lights off

I have a cherokee 91, honestly as most of women I don't know about cars, but I want to learn, don't feel comfortable taking it to a mechanic right away, don't want to be ripped off if it is something easy to fix....the dashboard lights went off, but the tail lights are working, dome lights, clock are on...just the dashboard lights went off.. went to autozone, not a lot of help....checked some of the fuses which look to be ok...someone can give me some orientation?

Unless you have an underlying issue... I've seen often times where things like this can come down to a loose ground wire.. Some screws even act as a point of ground on some.
More info would be helpful to assist you in tracking down the root cause.
Have you had any part of the dash out recently? And modifications? etc?

You can try unplugging your rear wiper switch located under the radio and see if they turn on then. There was a big thread where like 10 people fixed theirs by doing that, turns out the light on that switch can short and cause the dash and shift selector lights to not work. I just fixed mine, the copper piece that makes contact when you turn the switch all the way to the left was bent, so the switch wasnt working. Bending it back made my dash lights turn back on!
