How many actually use their XJ as their main means of transportation,I have thought about selling my car,but I think the better mileage pays for itself.

Mine is driven daily for both work and play as it's my only vehicle. I've put close to 50k on it since September last year. Makes me really want to buy a work van so I can keep my baby nice forever

Mine had been my daily driver and adventure rig for the past 5 years. The only thing I don't like about it is the mileage but other that its great.

When I first bought it, it was mainly for the winter, but then I fell in love with it, lol. I had my fun with my Intrepid so time to move on. My Intrepid, which was supposed to be my wife's car, is now for sale because my wife wants another Jeep. My MPG isn't the greatest, but that's all I have to pay on it, and it's a Jeep, so I don't complain.

If I didn't drive my jeep everyday, I'd be a sad panda.

Mine has been my dd sence nov '10 60mi round trip everyday. Roughly $80 a week in gas. Lookin for a good weather beater to drive and save the jeep for the bad days in the winter and weekend fun

I originally bought my 98 Cherokee for a winter beater, and cruise the hot rod in the nice weather. The Jeep is 1 of 5 vehicles I own, and currently gets the most attention.

It's been my daily driver since January, as I can't seem to bring myself to park her.. lol. Lifted about 4-4.5" on 34x12.5 tires, she doesn't get the best mileage, but most of my driving is in town or just short trips on the highway, so bad gas mileage isn't as noticed. I find when I'm driving a more fuel efficient car, I don't really save any money as I end up just driving more often..

I could certainly understand wanting something else to commute in if you're going more than 10-15 miles one way.

then again, you won't have as much fun doing it.

DD for 9 years basically. Ive only put 3K on my truck during that time cause my XJ's too fun to NOT drive. Now my truck is a heap because of neglect due to my XJ being too nice & too much fun to drive. Whenever I complain about mileage, people tell me Im stupid to keep driving her. Well, even if I bought something that got 30mpg, its going to cost me at least $250 a month PLUS gas. Sure, she might like to drink, but she is great at everything I need her for. I WONT get rid of her on my own free will and my wife knows this, and encourages it! She's my enabler. She isnt jealous of "Goldie", she promotes fun, spontaneous and exciting threesomes.
