Start with new spark plugs and running injector cleaner through the gas tank. I recommend BG44K as injector cleaner. It's a little harder to find than a product like Lucas but it works much better. It'll be worth the search

There is a TSB about installing heat shields around the injectors to try and keep the fuel from boiling in the injectors. There is also some talk that the valves may not be sealing intermittently and causing misfires. Cycle the key a few times before starting and see if anything changes.

Get the valve cleaner from the dealer. I've had good results with it. First time I bought it they told me to dump it in the throttle body while running till it dies and let it sit over night.
Next day run it hard and the valves should clean up and seal a lot better.
As for heat shields I just made those outta tin.

No! Poor the stuff in while running till it stalls then turn the key off to save battery. Not till its outta gas.. If it don't stall after there's no valve cleaner left then shut it off.
