Custom Paint
In the spring I'm getting my XJ painted by my cousin who owns a body shop. I'm getting kind of tired of white and I'm looking at going custom. I think metallic paint looks best on cherokees (judging by how my '92 laredo dark hunter green looks). I was thinking of going with a dark charcoal grey metallic and having the word "cherokee" put on the trim portion of the front doors in a light silver metallic. Here's a sample of the color I'm talking about http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/musta...tang-gt-01.jpg
Tell me what you think or if you have any other color suggestions!

Stick with same color, Should you ever want to sell it. It looks a lot better to buyers. And would save a lot of extra work. Such as door jams, the hatch jam, under the hood, etc. etc.. Also check the Chrysler recall list, first. A lot of their paint jobs where recalled, due to flaking off. Mine '91 got repainted about 10-12 years ago because of this. They would only cover the flaking areas, So for a couple of hundred dollars more, the whole car was done. I would maybe think of a white met., or a white pearl (like Cadillacs). or possible two tone. I always wanted to know what mine would look like, with the sides painted gloss black. So I photo shopped a picture of it. JMO!......................... Attachment 32528

LOL Yeah I hear ya on the whole "offroad capability" after painting it.... I'm not going to be too afraid, sure I'll probably not try to squeeze my XJ in tight spots, but I'll still be wheeling with it. One thing I WILL do to protect my paint will be installing those plastic film protector things on my rockers so they don't have a chance at rusting

Great choices bro!! I'm definitely going to check out the lexus black because it sounds B.A! I've also thought about the JK green like the XJ in this picture

I like The Charcoal black, I wanted to paint my 98 the same color as the rims on my 99. I think itd be a sweet color to do and I almost thought about painting the flares a metalic silver, Heres an xj I almost picked up last year with the silver around the body...looked real good in my opnion.
Also I believe the Chili Pepper Red is an awsome color, That or sunburst orange.
