OK so about once a week I get on CL and check to see what's out there for XJ parts. Well this guys had a post for months about XJ parts and lift kits so I decided to e-mail him to see what he has. Knowing how sketchy CL be I always approach these ads with a great deal of lets say "oh this should be good" kind of attitude. Well I was right again on this one. I simply ask the guy if he has anything in the 4.5" range for lift kits. He replies with this:

"I have a very nice 4.5 inch lift from Rubicon express with upper and lower control arms, and it has addaleafs for the back and only 3 shocks, this is the super flex from Rubicon, I also have a 3 inch lift Rubicon express, I want350$ for supper flex and $250 for the 3 inch lift, I also have a posi unit I could install for you and if you don't have posi yet then your missing out!"

Word for word that is a copied and pasted reply. I then reply with a simple " do you have pictures of both kit's?" At this point I'm pretty much expecting the worse. Boy was I right! These are the pictures this joker sent me.

I simply replied that he be best off selling what he has for scrap metal and that I wouldn't let him change the air in my tires let alone install a "posi unit" in my rear end!

He replied back with "LOL" and that was it.


Needless to say I think this guys doing more in his shed than tinkering with Jeeps.

I had luck with finding stuff on CL. I found a set of bumpers for $275, 5 rims and tires for $400,(i powder coated the rims) stock d30, trans w/t-case go $500. Im just having a problem selling my old lift.

 

You seriously found that bumper plus one for the rear for $275??? Screw you!

 

I've had ok luck on CL.

So far had pretty good luck buying & selling on Craigs List. Always gotta plan on the stuff being sold to be crap, and hopefully be surprised that is isn't...

i saw a guy trying to pass off a base model 93 ZJ as a laredo. he put laredo emblems from a cherokee on it. in addition to that, it also had a "fuel saving 4.0 liter v6"

 

I've had pretty good luck with CL as well. It's just a matter of sifting through the crap ads and finding the gold ones.
Got my ARB snorkel for $150
Locked 8.25 with 4.56's for $150

I've had a few other good deals, but those ones are a couple of the bigger savings.
