im wanting to convert my 93 XJ into a flatbed dually but i dont know if i have to get a heavier rear end and transmission

Sounds like you need to do some basic research on axles, body work, and fabrication before you start hacking your rig up.

Yeah u definitely need a new rear end. Specifically a dually rear end. And probably a whole heavier trans. That plus u need to plate your "frame". And leaf spring brackets. And a lot of unibody reinforcement

do you know what constitutes a one ton truck? you can slap whatever the hell rear and transmission you want into a cherokee and it still wont be a one ton truck.
i have 3/4 ton axles, huge brakes, and plating... but it sure aint a 3/4 ton truck.
you can make one though... get a long bed MJ and stuff it with a 6.0, 4L80E, one ton axles and a **** ton of plating. get ready to spend 2-3 times more than an actual 6.0 chevy would cost you used.
