I had a 1984 S10, it was a piece of crap. I put about $2000 into that damned truck and only got $900 when I sold it, it still wasn't running right! Tell him the best thing to do with an S10 is to take the leaf springs and scrap the rest. IFS and a vacuum 4wd system, plus the joy of sitting on the side of a VERY busy high way trying to figure out what broke this time.

no he isnt looking for a sit on top rig he wants custom cut and mod to fit the body on the frame and as far as axle differences .....well ill not comment on vacuum axles soo lol ........thank you all for your comments and suggestions ill pass it along
I traded a nearly perfect 2000 s10 (which has vacuum operated 4x4 so I'm assuming his must be older...) with 140k miles for my 96 xj with 219k miles... the jeep is having cooling system upgraded/repaired ... and I still don't care that the blazer is gone and am much happier with my choice
better ride, more power, better handeling even (honestly I didn't expect that)

I've always thought about putting an IFS on a 2wd XJ as a street machine. Would be pointless for 4wd though.
If you do end up doing it, charge him a lot and post the build here. Lol

I would refuse . To much work just to "down grade" from a already decent set up.
But if yea.. I'd tell him to get the parts and give me $8000 for labor up front.
