Default computer swap

so my beloved xj was in an accident this past week and if that isnt bad enough it was my 17 yr old brother driven er.. not me. so i'm in the process of puttin it back together and i noticed the casing of the ecm was split and there's a chunk of the casing missing. yesterday i bought a 2000 xj sport (mine is a 2000 xj classic) for 800$ just to get the parts off of to fix mine and i was wondering if i could just take the computer out of the one i just bought and throw it into mine?? the drivelines are identical (I6, automatic). any help is appreciated.

TIA

Jesse J.

If you don't have VTSS and immobilizer you should be fine.
