The thing is, your premium also can be affected by several other factors like: how long you're with the company; Some companies offer loyalty discounts, discounts for multiple policies, discounts for defensive driving courses and so on. So don't think that a low rate is only determined by simply switching companies. You might get your feelings hurt!
Since Jersey has the highest rates in the country, I don't expect to pay tiny little premiums like $100/mo.

Nationwide is on my side.
I pay $150 a month for liability on the XJ, and full coverage on my 04 Acura TL.

I think insurance on lifted rigs depends on the region. When I lived in Pa there were very few lifted rigs. A friend of mine stopped by their allstate agent to pay the bill in person. Their xj had a 3 or 4 inch lift and 33's. The agent looked out the window and said "We are insuring THAT vehicle?? no, i'm canceling it!". it was a really nice cherokee, certainly not a hack job. hell the body was straight and the paint was shiney. insurance was revoked on the spot.

Here in arizona I think the insurance agents would go broke if they stopped insuring lifted vehicles. Most dealers sell brand 4x4's that are lifted. It's kinda odd to see a wrangler without at least a budget boost.

You need to shop around! We have 2 newer cars with full coverage, no glass deductable. I have a not at fault accident but no tickets. my wife is 26, i'm 29. The jeep is also on the policy but liability only. We pay $105 a month and we live in the phoenix metro area. sounds like you are getting ripped!
I think my xj is $75 a year on our policy.

As already stated, there are many factors that determine how much your insurance rates are. Your age, where you live, the year of the vehicle, driving record, which insurance company you chose, the level of coverage, and even your credit score. A person may be able to save a little cash by switching to a discount insurance company but how well will they represent you in court in the event of an accident. Would you want to be hit by someone with fly by night insurance?

yeah im insured through my aunt but were probably going to switch because she is to paranoid with doing everything by the book to keep her job. when i sent out my crawl for the cure ads trying to raise money for donations, she said i needed to put event insurance on it for the weekend. i was like eff that.

but i pay $100 a month for liability, 19, have had 3 tickets but all of them were dropped by doing probation so i have a clean driving record.

I'm 36 and I've got full coverage on my Jeep ('05 TJ), and my bike ('02 Yamaha R1, full custom), as well as liability on my '00 Ford Ranger XLT and I'm only paying $110 a month with USAA (military). I'm very happy.

USAA doesn't care if I lift my Jeep or mod my bike.

(That bike is for sale, by the way....... )

Unless your policy specifically excludes "modified" vehicles, you should be covered.

Liability is not affected by year, make or model of vehicle. That is based on your age, driving record, and where you live.

Been selling insurance for State Farm for 10 yrs.
