Default Comanche buying advice

Need some advice on buying a Comanche. 87 Comanche "Pioneer" (has a lot mix match parts not really a pioneer anymore) with the I6 4.0, Auto trans (3-speed A904 automatic tranny), 4x4, lifted 6" rear and 5" front. 31" Goodyears. Plastic bedliner.

I've seen this a few weeks ago before it was posted. Has ELECTRICAL ISSUES by that i mean the "harness" is destroyed and rigged. Has "idiot cluster". Idles high and steaming from tstat housing. Needs paint, but not worried about it. Rust is starting to take the floor boards and above the rear fenders, frame is good. 4x4 doesn't engage, probably vacuum.

Now I know a few things about Comanches, Cherokees, and the legendary Renix. Currently I own a 90 XJ Laredo, my inlaws have a 97 XJ and a 88 MJ. I have done some work to all of these within the last year and regularly on this site.

Now my questions:
Is that the right transmission?
Or is the AW4 right?
What is a fair price range?
Any advice on the early Renix? (I have cruiser's tips in mind)

I thought they came with the AW4 if it had the 4l but I'm not a comanche expert.

not correct transmission, should have the AW4.
i would pay like $500 for it. think about it, it needs a good deal of work:

-proper transmission installed
-fix the electrical ---> potential nightmare if you arent familiar with electrical
-rust

since it has a 904 i have no idea what transfer case it has behind it. if its not a 242 or 231 you would want to get one of those too. add tcase as a possibility

Thanks for the advice everyone. Turns out I'm not buying it from him. However we purchased a parts comanche from someone and it has what we both need for our projects. Crazy day. For reference the parts one is an 88 comanche pioneer,I6 4.0l ,5 speed, 2wd, longbox. Frame is rusted so there is no saving it. Will end up get scrapped or to the junkyard when all we need is taken.
