Default Chop Question

Poss toying with the idea of chopp'n the xj. It is and will continue to be my DD. With that said, im looking for the most effective way to chop, and seal the cabin off from the newly exposed bum of the heep, was hoping to get feedback from some members who have currently done so, Is it something that i may regret???? Thanks, some pics would help, most iv'e seen from google are cut-up trail rigs!!!!!! Daily driver at 3 inch now, gonna be RE 4.5/5inch in a couple of weeks!!!!

I think I've also heard that you've gotta build a cage in the rear or else the body will twist. I can't remember.

If you close the cab with the hatch you don't need a cage as long as it's welded correctly. I'm leaving mine open other than a soft top to keep rain somewhat out, so I put a cage in mine

i plan on choping my 4 door into a open cab. think 4 runner with no top and back doors but i have a fresh cage. even if you enclose the cab i would reinforce and brace the shiit outa everything. its a unibody to begin with and you wana chop structure out of it? brace, brace, brace

I moved the d pillar up and into the c pillar and welded it. Then I made all necessary cuts on the old liftgate to enclose the cab... Fiberglassed it it. Name: chipped.jpg

I used a liftgate(cut in half) and taillights from a newer model for the back.

I'm not even finished with it yet and the "bed" has already proven to be useful. This is my DD, so I've been working on it a lot before work.
